Sincere Condolences to Mrs. Callery and family on the passing of Mr. Callery. He was a Breath of Fresh Air when he became Principal of Tenure N.S. in the late 70s when I was in 5th class. He demonstrated Charisma and Fairness, and we were all in safe hands with Mr. Callery at the Helm.

My sincerest condolences… I had the pleasure of attending Tenure NS at the time Mr Callery started there, met Miss Monks and went on to have an enormous influence on my life and future for which I thank both of you sincerely.

So sad to hear of death of Tony, our condolences to Maria and family. Tony was always so pleasant to meet, may he rest in peace.

Yesterday was a lovely ceremony to send Tony off. A lovely mass very much expertly orchestrated by Maria and what a setting to have as your final resting space.
Tony was a well loved figure of the extended Callery Family. His banter and good humour especially in the many social and family gatherings is legendary. He and Maria were a constant bond connecting us all together
Their devotion to visiting Granny (Tony's mother) and my Dad, Bert (Tony' brother) as ill health took hold was exceptional. I will never forget the care and consideration of the Monasterboice Callery's towards us all. It's a remarkable legacy

Tony was a remarkable man who touched the lives of many in the Monasterboice community, not only as a teacher and in the Monasterboice Drama Group but also as a member of the Tidy Towns Committee and more especially for us as a member of the Drumshallon Forge Committee. Tony was a kind and generous man who always had the interests of his family and community at heart and will be greatly missed. May Tony rest in peace.

Sincere condolences to Maria, Mark, Aidan, Eímear and Seán. Deeply saddened to hear of the death of our friend and former principal Tony. Affectionately known as “The Master”, his contribution to Tenure school over many decades was immense and his great influence lives on in those of us who knew and worked alongside him. His gift for words and love of drama are fondly remembered by the many generations in Tenure. Likewise his love of gardening around the school and the sense of independence and responsibility he instilled in his pupils. Many of those pupils are now our parents of today and they continue Tony’s great work and legacy by passing on his values and instilling the highest educational standards in their own children.
