Tony always brought a warmth and a smile to every conversation. He will be missed by so many. He always told me that he was the only one guaranteed 40 minutes a game... I think he enjoyed every minute he had on and off the court. In passing, I hope there is a release for Tony and for the family. Am sure he's still smiling!

From being another Dad on the side of a court with Naomh Mhuire, to being a referee on the court, to sitting and chatting at games and pushing for us to always to keep playing, Tony was one in a million. He looked after everyone and always had a word of advice or concern. Tony had a huge impact on basketball in Ireland, but more importantly he had an impact on people. Rest gently Tony. We will leave behind those we love, Saddened by how little time We were granted with them.
We are rising on the back of the wind.
Soon we will leap through rainbows Where our souls will let go of grief.
Poem by Carmel Bugan
