I remember Tony's helpfulness to my mum and I at Broadstone when my late dad, Brendan, was on sick leave and we dropped in to sort forms/ certs etc...

I was very sorry too have heard of the passing of Tony, i met him at Bus Eireann Broadstone from 1997 onwards . He always had a "bus related " story and a smile for all. A great ambassador for CIE tours at the airport-may he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to the Doran family on the very sad news of Tony’s passing. My connections with Tony relate to his time spent as Meeter and Greeter and unofficial ambassador for CIE Tours at Dublin Airport. It was a position he excelled in, playing a pivotal role as the first point of contact to the arriving Irish/American tourists. To say he went above and beyond his call of duty would be an understatement. He was at Dublin Airport every morning at the crack of dawn to meet the inbound US flights and didn’t leave his post, often late in afternoon, until everybody was safely dispatched to their hotels and all the lost luggage was reunited with its owners. All handled by Tony in a thoroughly professional manner with a sprinkling of his humour along the way. With this strong connection to the Irish diaspora Tony was deeply moved by the events of 9/11 and made his own valuable contribution in commemorating the victims, in particular those from the New York police and fire services. As many have said before me Tony was a thorough gentleman with old fashioned values of hard work, honesty, integrity and dedication to both his family and work. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all.

Words cannot begin to express how bereft and desolate we feel at the loss of our beloved neighbour Tony.
