Very sorry to hear this sad news. I only heard Tony's death today.(30.12.23).

Tony was a gentleman and very encouraging to the likes of me in a session.

And the other thing I greatly admired about Tony - apart from his great playing and singing - was his commitment to the session.

Any publican or venue who hired Tony got the full 100%!! He loved music. He was never in any hurry home.

Rest in peace. Huge sympathy to Ciara.

If someone was to ask me what I remember most about Tony, I would say his laugh! I can hear it loud and clear! I would also say his love for you Ciara! He wasn’t always diplomatic, or generous with his praise but it doesn’t take away the fact that you were his lifeline and what kept Lazarus fighting! I do believe your dad is at peace and he will take care of you the way you took care of him: with all of your heart! I wish I lived closer,so I could hold you close and give you strength. A wonderful musician and singer who freely gave of himself over the years, his time and teaching to pass on to others so that they too could enjoy the beauty of music.
