It was with great sadness that I learned of Tony’s death. I was in Clontarf for about a year when he arrived as the new Chief. We had not known each other previously but we immediately developed an excellent working relationship. We formed a close personal relationship also that stood the test of time and that has only ceased with Tony’s passing.

He was a most kind, friendly and generous man and was liked and respected by everybody who knew him. He had a sense of humour that immediately put people at ease and lightened the atmosphere around him. To be in his company was a constant joy.

My sympathy goes to all his family and relatives

May he rest forever in the bosom of the Lord. RIP.

In 38 my years with CIE and Dublin Bus I never met his equal as a manager. Fair and kind, modest and respectful he was held in the highest regard by all who knew him.
