Dear Isolde, Jennifer, Eugene, Shane and Siabh - and the rest (to quote Gillian’s island), Just as when my own Canadian-Irish dad died two years ago, I felt a lot of gratitude when I heard that your honoured and wonderful father was truly gone from this world, I only got to know Tony in the last two decades of his life but am very proud to say he was my own friend too authentically and in our visits in Dublin and in Killaloe and Toronto too, I came to understand why you are all such fine humans. It was such an emotionally meaningful honour to be asked to stand in for my friend Tony to give you away at your wedding in May Isolde. May his memory be. A blessing to all who loved him. Many condolences on the passing of Tony. He and I 'soldiered' over many years on great projects such as Glenveagh and Newgrange/Brú na Bóinne. I always appreciated his (and Barbara's) exceptional 'eye-for-design' and his vision will be forever remembered through his architectural legacy. I personally had a huge rapport with him, a true gentleman.
