My sincere condolences to the OShaughnessy family on the passing of Tony. I met Tony when I first got involved with the underage girls teams in Crokes. He represented the true volunteer spirit of the club , helpful, patient and conscientious to the new recruits underpinned with good humour and kindness. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.

I'm very saddened to hear of Tony's passing RIP. Sincere condolences to all of his family. He was such a devoted Crokes clubman in many respects. I had the pleasure of serving on the Football committee with him and during that time he provided great leadership on child protection matters, way ahead of his time. Tony gave up 10 years of Saturdays and Sundays to help mentor our football team in Crokes - sage words, and attempts to create a Munster Rugby Supporters Club in Glenalbyn! Many great memories from trips around Dublin, and further afield. Fitting that he was mentioned at Croke Park on Saturday evening. May he rest in peace.

I was very sorry to hear of Tony’s death. I hadn’t met him since I used to come to the house to teach piano to the boys in the 90s. I remember him as a pleasant man.

Deepest symptoms to Aighleann and family. He was one of the stalwarts of Crokes and is one of the reasons why Kilmacud are where they are today. Without volunteers like himself nothing would have been possible.

I like many others have fond memories of Tony coaching me at Kilmacud Crokes and De La Salle Palmerston. We had great trips away and Tony's mixing of coaching methods between both codes helped him deliver the first football feile for Kilmacud Crokes in 2003.

Just heard the sad news Aighleann . I have fond memories of debating GAA matters with Tony in the OPW canteen . Even if we were from rival clubs I valued his sound judgement and dry wit. My thoughts are with yourself and the family .

We were very sorry to learn of Tony's passing.
He was very much loved and respected by the under 12 B boys football team in Kilmacud Crokes whom he trained a number of years ago and who won The Feile under his management. I will always remember the Sunday the team won. It was like they won an All Ireland Final! That under 12 team, all of whom are now adults will always have wonderful and happy memories of Tony.

Our sincerest sympathies to Aighleann, Ruairí, Diarmuid and Fiachra on the passing of Tony. Often said, but never more true of anyone, Tony was one of a kind. I first met Tony when I agreed to help him run an underage Team at Crokes. From meeting at the club handing our colored maps with carefully written directions to the away pitch to rousing speeches before the match, at half time and after the match you never knew what he might say to the kids. He cared about taking part - not winning, he cared about the individual kids as well as the team and he always had a soft spot for the underdog or marginalised. It was a privilege to have known him.
