Aoife Hanrahan

Deeply shocked and saddened to learn of Aoife’s untimely passing.

I never met Aoife or spoke to her. We only communicated via email a number of times when I was buying some of her beautiful creations. And just from that contact, she made an impression – her kindness, decency and energy just jumped from the page. I would often look at her website and be in awe of her effortless creativity and the beauty she brought to the world.

An immeasurable loss to her son, her family and to her creative community – my heart goes out to you all.

Each time I wear one of Aoife’s pieces, I'll be thinking of her and of you.

I met Aoife at numerous markets and bought a number of her super cool designs. I always had lovely chats and laughs with her. So sad to hear this news. Condolences to you all.

I was so saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Aoife. I worked with her about 10 years ago in Odessa and will always remember her bright smile and fun-loving nature. We had many good nights out together and only recently a picture popped up on my Facebook from when she dressed as posh spice for my 30th birthday!

To Aoife's family, I'm so so sorry for your loss.
Aoife was the first person I met from our course when we started in UL in 1998 (I was late for the lecture, as usual, and she was standing outside finishing a coffee, as usual). She was the loveliest, kindest soul that first day and over all the years since. And she was funny too. very. Her laugh was absolutely infectious. She was so very loved by everyone and the grief that we all feel in her passing is deep.
I hope that, with time, the grief will quieten for you and her care and kindness will stay loud. She'll certainly remain in my thoughts always.

Where to start, such heartbreaking news. like many others I would have known Aoife from doing the markets in Dublin. Always had a chat during the day to see how things were going, she was such a sweet soul with the most engaging smile, so creative,so talented, so hard working, she put everything into making a living for her and little Cian...to her family and friends my heart felt condolences and sympathies...
