Aprils light was so pure and her strength was so inspiring, her smile and laugh were infectious,but I am just a stranger yet she impacted me deeply and profoundly so I can only imagine the beautiful impact she made on those dear to her, I can only say if you knew her personally God really blessed you in this life, she has always been in my prayers and I will continue to pray for her soul.May she rest in peace in Gods arms. She truly is an Angel x

Incredibly sorry to see the news April has passed, Katie.
If all parents could give their children an ounce of the life and the love you gave to and enabled April to enjoy despite illness and setbacks, we would be living in a much more fun place. I couldn't help but smile each time I might have seen something (a story or a trip to somewhere) pop up on instagram over the years and I'm just so sorry this day has come. You are an amazing mother. I feel like I have known both April and Katie for years even though I have never met them personally. My daughter is a similar age so I felt very connected to April and to Katie too as a fellow young Mother. I loved seeing April repeatedly beat the odds, always in awe at her courage, bravery and good humour. Her contagious grin often had me smiling at my phone and seeing her with a can of coke and chocolate bar made me happy. What always struck me was that no matter what they were going through, her parents always ensured she still got to do fun things and make real life memories that most can only dream of. Summer days outside playing with family, holidays to New York, Halloween parties, Toy Show etc, it was all magic for her with no effort spared. I wish Katie, Grahame and their extended family peace and light in the next few months and years as they navigate their grief. There is no doubt April will be looking over them guiding them through the next part of their journey. Sending nothing but love to this wonderful child now in heaven and to all those that knew and loved her on earth. Clodagh x

My deepest sympathies to the Banks and Keyes families. I had the privilege of meeting April last year while working on a campaign with her and her family. All of the stories I heard from my time working there were touching, but April’s story was especially so. My role involved hearing the unedited version from Katie, so I knew before meeting April everything that she had gone through - and still she was one of the happiest children I’ve ever met. I feel honoured to have gotten to meet someone who was so brave and resilient.

It has taken me a long time to write this message as I have found it so difficult to comprehend how such an amazing little girl can be gone from this world. Words mean very little at this moment but hopefully, in time, when you look back and read all these wonderful messages showing how April touched so many people in her short life, it will give you some comfort. April was an absolute firecracker, totally individual and unique, funny, kind and unbelievable loved. Katie and Grahame you have been the most amazing, dedicated, strong, loving and inspirational parents that any child could have, but April was the lucky one, she got you. Though I'm sure you both feel that it was you who hit the jackpot on the 29th November 2012. April endured more than any child should have to in her short life but you along with all of her family made sure she had plenty of highs also. So many memories were created which will hopefully help you, if only a little, going forward. Sibhéal, Aisling, Seán, Andrew, Ciarán, Ellen, Lily and Zara you are an incredible family who will get each other through this unbearable time. Sending so much strength and love your way. April wil be entertaining Nana Bella now, who also absolutely adored her. Your pain is gone now April, rest easy beautiful xxx
