Our sincere sympathy to Nora, Molly, the Coveney, Murphy and Lynch families on the sudden death of Archbishop Patrick Coveney R.I.P. He was indeed an amazing Tracton man who born here,went to school here and achieved so much during his life.He was ordained in 1959 and after fifty years of ministry in so many countries around the world, he returned to Cork. He went to live in Crosshaven and continued to minister, celebrating Masses in Crosshaven and Tracton Abbey Parishes along with administering the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Diocese. He always carried out his duties with great holiness and served God and his congregations with distinction.
He will be sadly missed by his family, extended family and friends,Canon Murphy,Fr. Pat, his Clergy colleagues including Bishops Gavin and Buckley. It was always a pleasure to have him in Minane Bridge and Nohoval to celebrate week end Masses and for Confirmations over the years. Rest in peace Archbishop Coveney.

Many years ago, as a Child, I marveled at how any one man could consume so much on glancing through his many books in the middle room in Old Castle.
