Our deepest sympathies to Dean and all Audrey’s family and friends on the passing of their beloved Mum and friend, such a wonderful Lady always smiling and good fun. I hope all the lovely memories of her give you comfort at this time. Rest in peace Audrey you will be missed by all who loved and knew you 🙏
Sincere condolences Dean on the passing of your Mum, a truely gentle lady. We had the pleasure of introducing our son as a newly born baby, to her 36 years ago, a memory we always treasure. Sorry Dean we couldn't get to Audrey's funeral service , we were at a close relative's funeral at the time. Dean you would remember me from school days and I have worked for your mum many times over the years. Everyone who knew Audrey will miss her radiant smile ,as will all at St Mary's. Best Wishes to you and yours Dean. May your wonderful Mum can now Rest in Peace.
I’ve such fond memories of Audrey from my time at Bracken Hill in the 70s, she was a remarkable woman, full of enthusiasm and fun personified. Always a kind word for everyone and she most certainly lived life to the full. Rest in peace x
My condolences Dean .
I’m so sorry to hear this news. She was a friend of the family and taught in Brackenhill School (which my mother Alexandra founded with Irene Trimble—Audrey herself was a key member of the team). My brothers and I have great memories of how much fun she was: with her high kicks, yoga, no-bake biscuits and Cowboy Stew recipes that she used to cook when looking after us for longer spells. (Not least her effectiveness at bringing my younger brother, Sebastian’s, wild toddler antics under control for good (during his ‘terrible threes’ phase) on one of these visits!) I’ll never forget her warmth and kindness. I’m so sorry to have missed the funeral (due to being away) but will always remember her. 🤍
Deepest condolences to Audrey’s family. She was a such wonderful person..Ms Carney was my Montessori teacher in Brackenhill school and we all loved her. She had a lovely way of engaging with us..listening intently to what we would say. I was blessed to have her as a wonderful neighbour on Windgate Road for the past 30 years. Many a chat & cuppa we had in her little snug at the front of her home ..She was always so welcoming & will be missed by so many. Rest in peace Audrey 🤍
Audrey was such a vibrant and special lady with huge enthusiasm for life. Always an encouraging word and a laugh as one passed Heather Hill with her welcome flowers on the gate.
Great memories too of Audrey in St. Marys, the Burrow Players and her 90th birthday celebration. Enjoyed several trips with Audrey to Bangor to visit our mutual friend Joan Charlton.
Deepest sympathy to Dean and the Crowe family.

I was exceptionally fortunate to have known Mrs Carney. She was my teacher in Bracken Hill and minded myself and my brothers in the years that followed.
I have fond memories of sitting in the back seat of her bright green car as she zipped around the hill running her errands and visiting her friends.
She used also write letters to me from our dogs when I was away (and she was at home minding them) complete with paw prints as a sign off.
She was so sociable and friendly with a beaming smile.
She will be missed by all her knew her but our lives are all the richer for having her play such a memorable part.
May she rest in peace.

Deepest condolences on the passing of Audrey. She taught my children in pre-school classes at Bracken Hill School and we all remember her as a kind and cheerful person. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Fond, fond memories of Audrey on stage in the Burrow Players where Dad, my brothers and I performed with her. An amazing character, full of fun and laughs.
In more recent times, it was wonderful to see her on the "Thanks for the Memories" documentary with the Forget Me Nots choir.
Rest in peace Audrey, thank you for being you.

Rest peacefully, lovely Audrey. Thank-you for the chats and smiles. I always left your company feeling lighter.
My deepest condolences to Dean and all of Audrey's dear family and friends. I had the pleasure to know Audrey nearly all my life. She was a dear friend and amateur dramatics enthusiast with my late parents, Norman and Doris and the many other crew of the Burrow Players. I have many photos of her in 'character' in the very many plays they put on through the decades. I would be happy to share them with Dean if he would like.
I noticed another person comment on her amazing high kicks; this is something I was only remarking on the other day. I remember being astounded that she could swing her leg from the floor up on to the stage in the Burrow Hall and leap up in one movement.
Audrey was always upbeat and jovial and time spent with her was always uplifting. The world has lost a one of a kind. I hope that she is now in heaven with my parents and the other cast members and dear friends, to mention just a few, Joan Kerr, Fred Spendlove, Norma Ingram. I can only imagine the fun they would all have being reunited together again. May she rest in peace and eternal love.

My sincere condolences to Carney's son Dean, her nieces Debora and Greer and all her loved ones near and far- of whom there are so many.
I had the joy of knowing Carney my entire life, she was a constant in both our family home and life, from teaching us in Bracken Hill, her many visits to Australia and our international travels together. She was a remarkable woman whose life spanned the Great Recession, World War II, to her beloved cottage in Heather Hill and her service to teaching in Howth. I will remember her kindness, her high kicks, whistles and love of the Forget Me Nots. Always a twinkle in her eye and a joie de vivre, I am so grateful to have known her. She was a beloved nanna to us all. Rest in peace Carney, fly high and keep up the high kicks.

I had an awful lot to live up to when Audrey looked after my two children in Brackenhill.
I was constantly being corrected by them by not doing or saying what "Carney" said. She was wonderful. One of a kind.RIP.
Liz Territt
And her pupils Paul and Catherine.

Malahide in the notice is a bit confusing, Audrey Carney was probably the best known person in the Baily and St Marys Howth for many many years, a kind and gentle lady she will be missed by many residents.
So sorry to hear Audrey has died.
Who could forget her - a once-off.
I bet she's dancing in Heaven!

Dear Audrey brightened your heart every time you met her she was one of life’s special ones and we were blessed to have her living in our community-her spirit will always live on with us.
Audrey was an exceptionally free and generous spirit. An inspiration to us. For all the 20 years we have known Audrey, she kept a vase of flowers on her gate every day for passers-by to enjoy. Such a strong life-force, dancing the can-can and climbing ladders still in her 90s. Loved in the community. We will remember her with affection.
I had the pleasure of knowing Audrey during the 70's and early 80's in Howth. A lovely lady.
Rest in peace Audrey.
