I am so sorry for your loss. He was a lovely headteacher to work for. He deserved a long and happy retirement.
Our sincere condolences to the Van Cauwelaert family

I'm very sorry to hear of Mr Van Cauwelaert's passing. He was my favourite teacher at at St. Wilfrid's back in the 1980s. Very smart and kind but took no nonsense! I can still hear him reading Dulce etc Decorum Est to us. I also have a vague memory of him reading something in a cowboy voice! He will be sadly missed.
Very happy childhood memories of growing up with Gus on Stillorgan Grove, and how he interacted with us slightly younger kids. He was bubbly and outgoing, and always kind. We were always delighted to be included in the brilliant garden fetes he helped organise for charity. Our sincere condolences to his family on his sad passing and to all his Van Cauwelaert siblings. May you rest in peace, Gus.
Fond memories of happy times in Sycamore Road ,sending love to you all, remembering the gorgeous Gus xx
My deepest sympathy to Danny and family on the sad passing of Gus.May his gentle soul rest in peace 🙏 .
