My deepest sympathy and condolences to all the O' Callaghan family on the passing of Gus. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

My deepest condolences to all the O'Callaghan family and extend family and relations, neighbours and friends on the loss of Gussy. I was heartbroken to hear of his passing so sudden.

Id have met Gussy on a Monday to Friday at 2pm coming through the door singing (which would always have us chuckling), or bringing snacks with him. He'd stay at reception with us for a few minutes to catch up with us to see how we were and he'd leave us giggling at his jokes to make his way to the pool.

We could be busy in the pool but you'd hear Gussy at the other end with a big Wave "Haiii" and of course i always gave a massive wave back with a huge smile because id mighty time for Gussy!
He might stop at reception again on the way for another half an hour!

Although i left RPH to travel, Gussy is one character you could never forget and will never forget. He was the grandad of the leisure club and Im sure he will be desperately missed in RPH by everyone!

Seán had some fun encounters with Gussy and enjoyed his sense of humour.
It was lovely to meet him in July when he made the trip to my home village of Ahakista to support Jamie and Seán on their 150km biking trip. He was an incredible man and needless to say everyone's friend.
Hope you will find comfort in the many wonderful memories you have of Gussy.

Deepest sympathy to the o callaghan family on the passing of gus. I joined the rochestown park leisure centre only 2 years ago. Gus, was one of the first persons i met. In those 2 years, we chatted mist days. What a character. And he was so proud of all his family. Always in good form so much he would put you in good form as well. He will be so missed in the swimming pool area between 1pm and 3pm every day. Gussy, may your gentle soul rest in peace.
