When I first met Austin in 1989, I could not understand how someone could have raised 7 daughters and kept, some of his hair, but all his wits and humour. Then I met Ann and it all made sense they were the perfect team and they are now again. I was lucky enough to benefit from his advice, his anger and his kindness and for that I am extremely grateful. May he rest in peace:

A pioneer not just in life but a man of independence and heart
Uncluttered and simple, family was all
Sharp, opinionated, caring and giving
The long walks, train trips, oatmeal smells each morning
In joy and tragedy he was always there and
Never will he be forgotten a true gentleman.
