Hailing from Chicago, I had heard of the O'Malley's Uncle Austie for years.

One afternoon in 1984, having tea with Anthony O'Malley and Mrs Duffy,i n her shop, in walked the legend.
Uncle Austie. Even more handsome than his nieces and nephews described.

No longer a myth instead, a legend of a man, in looks and demeanor standing right in front of me.
I won't ever forget that afternoon.

From reading these beautiful condolences, he lived up to his legendary status that is for sure.

My sincere condolences to all who will miss seeing Austie on his walks, his attendance at Mass,
A wave from his car and his generous, yet humble, expansive & artistic intellect.

Condolences to Frank, Celia and family & the Tom O'Malley children and grandchildren who adored their Uncle Austie.
Deepest sympathy to all Austin's relatives who loved him and will miss his welcome and his friendship.
May God have mercy on his soul.
My father wants told me there's a place we can fly where the Earth is green and blue is the sky
There’s a man who lives there who hasn’t a care. He walks to the sea a for breath of fresh air.
Tall and slim he could touch the clouds.
Humble and quiet he was never loud
If passing by morning perhaps at night A privilege it is to come to his sight
A long conversation or a quick good day, he always knew just what to say.
Filled with laughter kindness and joy
Working these fields since he was a boy.
A friend to many on his long journey home
Austie OMalley from Doughmakeon
