My condolences to Jeffrey, Canjoe and family on the loss of Avril. Over many years Avril and Norman gave generously of their time and service to the life and work of St. Patrick's Cathedral and the Cathedral schools. Thinking of all of you at this sad time

Very saddened to hear of the passing of Avril. We worked together for many years in Dublin Zoo where she volunteered. Avril generously shared her passion for wildlife, especially birds, with many visitors over the years in the Discovery Centres in particular. She was a very valued member of our team. May she rest in peace.

Deepest sympathy to Jeffrey and family on your loss. Avril was a deeply committed member of the council of the Friends of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral for many years and we will miss her greatly. May she rest in peace.

So very sorry to hear of Mrs Bannisters passing she was a lovely lady always had a smile and a hello. Always admired her tree in the front garden as i passed by. May she Rest in Peace

She was a great colleague with a wealth of knowledge. Avril had the most wonderful sense of humour. Being on a shift with her was guaranteed to be full of fun and banter. Sadly missed. I’m So so sad to hear of Avril’s passing. I was a volunteer with Avril in Dublin Zoo for many years. She was a veteran of the volunteer program and was held in high regard by her fellow vollies. She could speak at length on all things zoological to visitors of all ages with great confidence and such was her wealth of knowledge and experience she was always happy to mentor new volunteers each year. She was great fun and a had a great sense of humour and I spent many happy Sunday afternoons on duty with her. Covid unfortunately closed the zoo and sadly Avril did not return to the volunteer program. She has been and will continue to be sadly missed.
