Bairbre Curtis
(née Hayes)

The passing of Bairbre, as a fine local historian has left a space that will be very hard to fill. I was fortunate to have had a piece of work feature along with hers and a few others too, in the book Fingal at War, No. 1 published in 2010 by the Fingal Library Service. I would like to pass my condolences to her family at this sad time.

I worked with her during her time with us in Fingal Libraries and also had the pleasure of helping her get her book Power and Privilege published in 2017. What a wonderful night was had by family and friends at its launch. May she rest in peace .

I had the pleasure of getting to know your mother initially back in 1986 when I started work in Balbriggan Library and she was a frequent visitor to the Library. Then in later years, she actually got a job in Fingal Libraries and I had the pleasure of working with her. She was a wonderful work colleague and a lady through and through.
