I'm really sorry to hear of Barbars passing. On behalf of my late Mum and Dad I'd like to offer my condolences to the family

My sincere condolences to you Pat and your immediate family. It was just Mon 19th Sept, almost 7pm when you took my call: "It's Ethna's younger daughter, Cathy", "I'm in Dublin for a week, that's Pat, isn't it? how are you?" You spoke immediately of your very sad news and Barbara's recent history. My mobile tells we shared eight minutes. As we 'hung up', you promised to keep as well as possible; to accept any and all support your children and friends offer'. Barbara's humour, charm and warmth are strong as I write and I will not let that fade. I'm lucky to have one of her paintings on my wall here at home, full of lilac, white and purple touches creating a joyful floral archway - as if inviting me into a 'secret garden'. I trust that she's in such a 'secret/ sacred' place, meeting up with many she has loved who got there before her. I am so thankful to have known her.

We had very happy and fun weekends exhibiting our "masterpieces' at St.Stephen's Green and in later years on Sundays in Merrion Square.
