Maura and Cathy I was so sad to hear that Mrs. O. had passed away. She was such a kind, warm and lovely person. Truly sorry I couldn't get to the funeral but she was in my thoughts and prayers. She worked so hard. May she now rest in eternal peace.

Dear Cathy and Maura, I was so saddened to hear about the loss of your much loved Mom. She was a wonderful neighbour to all of us and I have such fond memories as a child being greeted by her when we met in the driveway, always so stylish and elegant and always with a warm and gentle smile. She did a wonderful job with you 2, the best babysitters, neighbours and daughters you could wish for! Thinking of you at this sad time, much love from all the Harringtons. xx

When I first met Barbara I was sixteen years old. Every Saturday afternoon myself and the girls in Malahide Hair Studio would eagerly anticipate her arrival for her 4 o'clock appointment.
Barbara is such a light, so interested in everything and everyone around her, so kind and so patient. She is love. I was so lucky to have grown up knowing her, listening to her stories and taking care of her while I did it. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She will be carried in so many peoples hearts and remembered forever. My deepest condolences to her brilliant girls, Maura and Kathy. Thank you both for bringing Ms O'Farrell to us every Saturday and for always being so good to me, the three of you.

Dear Kathy, Maura and Tim, Family and Friends,

Our hearts are truly broken for you all. Your Mom was such an elegant,
generous and beautiful Lady who will be missed by us all. We Have many
happy memories of her rocking up into the shop when we were out the door with the uniform fittings, especially in the old shop in Portmarnock.

In she would come , Walking stick in her hand ,Hair perfect, make up perfect , she would take a seat at her small table with her order book and off she went for the day taking orders. We loved her for this and for her devotion to helping us out when we really needed it. I think she secretly liked it too and she knew she had the capability of doing it and doing it well I might add. She was an inspiration to us all and a mighty powerful lady and was loved endlessly by her two beautiful daughters , also two very strong and wonderful ladies. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

She lives on in you both Kathy and Maura.
It was an Honour to know her.

Ms o Farrell as we called her gave all of those under her gradience both her time and knowledge on how to be a buyer, manager and department head. She was a brilliant teacher and had a fab eye for trends in fashion. I loved my time working with her in haberdashery and wool as a management trainee all those years ago. She was a pure lady and will be sadly missed RIP.

Maura and Kathy so sorry to hear of your mums passing. Such a wonderful lady. She was such a an inspiration to me and many others. Loved working with her in many departments in her beloved Switzer's. Still have a set of Mullingar pewter drinks measures in use to this day which she gave me as a wedding gift. Always thing if her when making Irish Coffees. May she rest in peace.

My sincerest condolences on the passing of Barbara .When I worked as a young girl in Switzers she inspired me.I also was an American Citizen .We were of similar stature but 30 years apart about.!Full of get up and go as I remember at the time.!I then bought all my Children’s school uniforms both Primary and Secondary from her.Great fitting and service by her and her staff.May Barbara rest in peace.!
