Barbara Taylor

Just came across this sad news today and the thought came to my mind how Barbara wrote me a lovely kind letter 40 years ago when l had a bit of bad luck. I never forgot that kind gesture. It was so thoughtful of her. My deepest sympathy to David and family now.

I probably met her around 10 times over the years and she radiated a warm, happy, compassionate and hospitable spirit, a fine enquiring mind, a sense of fun and a lovely smile. It was a privilege to have known her. May the pain of loss you now feel be soothed by the joy her memory will still bring to your lives.

She was a great woman with a big personality and we were lucky to meet her a couple of times when she was in Brussels. I was very sad to learn of the passing of Barbara Taylor, even though we never met. I can only imagine what a formidable woman she must have been, being the mother of Clare, one of the most magical women I’ve had the privilege of knowing. My sincerest condolences to Clare and the entire family.

Very sad to hear the news of Barbara’s passing. I was very lucky to have met Barbara and the entire Taylor family during Christmas 1993. Clare & I were in our first year at Oxford and Clare had kindly invited me to over for a family Christmas since my own were in Malaysia.

Barbara was so warm, wonderful, witty and welcoming that I immediately felt at home. I really enjoyed our conversations. She went out of her way throughout Christmas to make sure everyone was having a wonderful time. I am very grateful for that wonderful experience.

Heartfelt condolences to you David & family on Barbara’s untimely death. Barbara was my dancing partner many years ago when we first met at set dancing classes. We have met up again over the years at the Peninsula Society and S.A.R. A. Barbara always worked tirelessly in every role she undertook and gave so freely of her time and her many talents.
