Barney Fitzgerald

My deepest sympathies go to all Barney’s wife and family. He was a gentleman and wonderful entertainer who I admired and liked greatly. My mother, the late Bridie Gallagher, The Girl from Donegal, regarded Barney as a great friend and regarded him as a superb musician. May he Rest in Peace.

Very sorry to learn of Barney’s passing. A true gentleman I was honoured to interview on a few occassions. He missed his other musical arm his brother Richie greatly and no doubt a great reunion took place in his heavenly reward. The Fitzgeral’s Ceili Band contributed so much to Irish society over the years and Barney was so modest about it all. His own family will miss him greatly now and I send them my depest sympathy. Rest In Peace Barney you were one of the best.
