Barney to me was the complete hurler and it was my honour to be involved with the St Rynagh’s Hurling team during their dominance in the late sixties and seventies. He had the skills that we all longed for and he was equally brilliant defending or scoring.

It was delightful to watch Barney in action, and his hurling was poetry in motion. He will be greatly missed.
