I had the pleasure and honour of working with Barry both at BEA Systems and Oracle - I had the highest respect for his knowledge (and ability to share it), depth of technical expertise (recognised by all); more than anything I appreciated his demeanour and consistent kindness. I will miss Barry - my sincere condolences to his family and friends.

As former colleague at Oracle, Barry and I worked together for several years, both as peers and as direct report. We had a truely good connect from day one with mutual respect and genuine interest. Barry was a kind-hearted individual - sincere, eloquent, and blessed with a sharp sense of humor. A wise and gentle man. He will be deeply missed.

I worked with Barry in Oracle almost a devade ago. My abiding memory of him was thatbhe was a true gentleman well versed in his area of expertise. REST in peace Barry.

Our heartfelt sympathy and condolences go out to Martin, Fergus, Eoghan and the O'Reilly family. We are deeply saddened that Barry was so suddenly an unexpectedly taken from us and his loss has hit all of us very hard. Barry has been an integral part of the Santulan Veda association for 25 years. His contributions as a speaker, a reliable and committed leader of the meditation group, a source of ideas and advice for the future of our organization, and as a link and mediator between our European and Indian circle of friends are irreplaceable.

For many of us, he was a true friend. Over the years with our teacher and master, Dr. Shri Balaji També, he had achieved so much with his knowledge, his warmth, and his quiet strength. Barry's presence, his wit and charm and his wisdom will be sorely missed. We are deeply grateful for the time we spent together and for his many inspirations, which will remain his legacy to us.

Barry and I weren't very close friends, but whenever we got together, we had good, trusting conversations. I got to know Barry as a very serious person who was interested in his fellow human beings, even if he wasn't always appreciated for it. I often think of him and regret that he left us so early. However, I am convinced that everything follows a divine plan. And his soul is in good hands, which is ultimately the most important thing. Farewell, Barry.

I was very sad to hear Barry passing away and my deepest condolences to the family. I worked many years with Barry and loved when he came to Copenhagen, always by train.

His laugh and humour will be greatly missed

I remember first getting to meet Barry in 2020. He was incredibly thoughtful, supportive, and took the time to share his experience and knowledge. As we continued to work together, he became a meeting I looked forward to because I knew he would bring a different perspective and we'd share at least one good laugh. The last time I saw him he gave the warmest hug. He was a wonderful person and my deepest sympathy to his family.

I am very sorry to hear of Barry’s passing. We were colleagues at Oracle for years and many’s the pleasant evening I spent in his company. Barry was very erudite and had a great sense of humour. He will be truly missed.

Barry was a true gentle-man. To be gentle is to be caring and kind and because of this it was a privellage to have known Barry. I think of the many trips we did together as we travelled and worked around Europe. But Barry did it differntly he travelled by train so he could see more of the world. When we went to a business trip in Austria we went to see a concert at the Vienna Concert Hall with tea before. Uniquely Barry. On another visit a few of us went to see his beautiful home in Vienna which he was refubishing and then we toured his local vineyards - precious memories

I had the distinct honor of meeting Barry as we worked together to build an inaugural Channel Program for our company. For nearly a year it was just us two; working, learning from each other, commiserating, and more than anything we laughed.

We laughed at each other. We laughed as not to cry. We laughed at our mistakes and we laughed as we celebrated our victories.

I am so fortunate to have known Barry, if only for a few years. He was one of the most generous, intelligent, loving, and wonderful people I've ever known.

Barry will be missed by us all and I'll cherish the sound of his laughter I can still hear.
