I’ve just learned of the passing of Barry. My Sincerest Sympathy to you and your family Dougie.

I was very sorry to hear of Barry's passing. I remember him as a friendly and kind guy in school, always smiling and laughing. Condolences to all his loved ones, take care of one another in this sad time.

Only just heard about the sad passing of Barry. May he rest in peace. It is a shock to hear of the death of a young man. Our deepest sympathy to you all at this sad time.

My sincere condolences to the wider Hobson family on Barry's passing.

I knew Barry through the Boys Brigade and will always be grateful to him for taking me under his wing and helping me become one of the gang. Barry was 4/5 years my senior and I very much viewed him as a role model - He had a big personality and l have fond memories of getting up to all kinds of hijinks with the lads in the 7th Company (usually spearheaded by Barry).

Our time in Mount Temple also overlapped and he was a great guide to me as I came into the school as a petrified first year - Something I can't thank him enough for.

Whether he knew it or not, Barry played an important part in my life for a number of years and I will always remember him as a great guy who had a big heart.

May he Rest in Peace.

Barry was such a lovely boy when I taught him as a 9/10 year old, and from all the messages of condolence he didn't change, just grew in his loveliness. He had tough times with his illness as a young boy but it didn't deter him from participating in everything going. He lived his life to its fullest.
