Barry was a such wonderful inclusive person to everyone who was involved in the camogie. He always had a smile and words of encouragement. Two main memories was when training and we might be getting a bit slow, he would say " lift those legs, they'll fall anyway" and the other great one after a match that we would have won by a point , and not with the greatest of style, he would say a "win is a win" - always so positive. RIP Barry.

We are a community bereft. Barry truly was a man for all seasons a gentleman of integrity and honour who willingly and graciously gave so much of his time energy and support to so many organisations. To us,Barry was our kingpin the essential driving force of the Club our compass. His involvement commitment and passion never waned and he remained integral to the running of the club. It was Barry who ensured we always had enough sliotars and hurls Barry the driving force behind our annual Race Night fundraiser he started over 25 years ago. Barry had the rare gift of making each and every person feel valued regardless of skill level your contribution mattered. He just wanted you to be an honest participant to give of your best to realise your potential. Always with a smile, never critical always kind. Your camogie family- past and present -thank you Barry, you enriched the lives of us all especially the players who were so fortunate to have been coached, mentored and encouraged by such a kind, inspirational leader; your camogie family will never forget all you did for us, we will never forget your empowering words, and we will forever remember and be grateful for the way you made us feel valued. We will look for you on the bank,on the sideline,as we proudly continue your legacy

My sincere sympathies to the family, friends, and neighbours, on the death of your beloved Barry, R I P. May he Rest In Peace and rewarded for his goodness and kindness in life, and reunited with all his loved ones gone before him, and he is rewarded with a very special place in his new found heavenly home after a fulfilling Christian life. Barry, was a perfect gentleman, and peoples lives were enhanced, should they meet him on their journey through life. He was a wonderful community person, and contributed greatly, to the development, and continuation of very many organizations, whether it, be sporting, cultural, agricultural, or his interests in the political structures, and the different parties, that constituted government. He was a proud member of the Fine Gael, party for many decades, and his presence, at the doors at election time, was invaluable, as he was well informed on all aspects of policies , and respected by the people in his community. He was a man that encountered, many up and downs in his life, his ability, to overcome death in his family, In unexpected ways , showed again, that Barry had a deep faith, which helped him through those difficult,, sad, and challenging times . He was a very successful farmer, but saw many changes in his lifetime as a farmer, but that enquiring mind, and his ability to take on new and modern ideas , helped Barry, to be able to move with the times. He was a great family person, good motivator, but most of all a good listener.

We were very sorry to hear of Barry’s death. We extend our deepest sympathy to all the O Sullivan family and partner Elizabeth. Barry was always a huge support and we have the fondest memories of him. May he rest in peace.
