To Barry’s wife and family. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Barry in McKee Barracks and found him to be the most professional, dedicated and supportive soldier. He was so approachable to all in both a soldiering and athletic manner. No job was too big or too small and he went about his job with a smile on his face.
Barry was person, who went out of his way to help others. He was an excellent NCO, who inspired others and an example to all young soldiers.
My deepest condolences to his wife and family and may Barry rest in eternal peace.

The greatest gift you can give anyone is your time, Barry gave me his time on many occasion. From helping me do homework as a child, to listening to my ideas in college, and coming to my graduations alongside Mary. Our condolences to Mary and family on the passing of Barry, a treasured and longstanding member of Donore Harriers, a hardy and stoic competitor who wore his club vest with pride and who selflessly gave back so much to the club and the running community as coach to our Fit4Life group. He bore his illness with great dignity and grace the same way he lived his life and the great sadness among the running community is testament to him as the great athlete and person he was. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Very sorry to hear of Barry’s passing. He was a great person in Donore Harriers and a great runner. He was so generous with his time, always encouraging and kind with a very gentle manner and good humour and helped so many athletes achieve their goals. May he rest in peace 🩷

We have over 16 years of wonderful memories in F4L and now we have a special corner in our Club lounge which we will call Barry's Corner. We met there on Sunday morning after hearing the sad news and will continue to do so. Barry will never be forgotten in this tremendous group he set up in 2009. We are so grateful. Rest in Peace Barry. ❤️

Deepest condolences to you all. My heart breaks for you, for there are no words to console you or ease your pain when you lose your "Soulmate" and when you lose your Dad your "Hero" of whom you are all so proud. Barry was a lovely kind and very caring gentleman. He was gentle, and softspoken and a wonderful neighbour and friend to our parents. I will never forget the way he looked out for my Dad when we lost our Mam. He would ask if he needed a message in the shops. He would watch out for frosty weather or snow and clear the path as he knew dad would make his way out to mass in all weather. Barry would never impose but he'd just watch out if the blinds didn't go up, or if dad didn't drive to 10.00 mass, Barry would be in straight away to check on him. He was our eyes and ears when we'd leave our dad. Barry's love and kindness will be sadly missed by all the Sheridan family. Farewell Barry thank you so much for being such a lovely friend. We'll miss your smiling friendly face in the garden. May your gentle soul rest In peace in heaven where i know you are now for all your kindness and good works 🙏
