Today many people are grieving, people who lost a colleague , a friend and a neighbour, a brother in-law, a nephew, a cousin or an uncle. I along with Brian have lost an elder brother, Elaine has lost a twin. Dearest Vera, I send you love, you have lost your Husband your lover, your friend and partner in this life. Ben, Andrew & David you have lost a Father. Lads, I feel for you the most at this time, nobody will ever understand Your loss, because nobody else had Barry Sweeney as a father, that was when Barry shined and was at his best, I witnessed it and it was remarkable to watch as you grew into the men that you are today and it brought me peace and happiness. His light shines on in you and it will shine in your children, and theirs, and theirs. Whoever reads this, I urge you to thank Your God for having the opportunity to know Barry Sweeney, say his name and contemplate on how Barry Sweeney made You feel, remember that feeling when you think of him and cherish it because sadly we will never feel that way again.
