Dear Stephanie

I was very sorry to learn of Barry’s passing. He was of immense assistance to the small Irish team working in very difficult and even dangerous circumstances in Northern Ireland in the aftermath of the Anglo Irish Agreement from 1985 onwards. It would be fair to say that we could not have carried out our duties without him. He was always in good humour and pleasant to everyone. My sincere condolences to you and to all the members of his family.
