Bart - you were one of life's great talkers, you always seemed to be in good form, a good listener, with lots of great stories to tell. May you rest in peace.

Rest easy Bart, You were always a good support to me in my early years. Very found memories of you always calling me by my nickname 'Nuggie' with your English accent. It almost sounded like Naggy :)

For me this is how Bart was, and what he helped inspire me to be.

Bart was a cordial and diligent co-worker in Guinness' Brewery with me. I will remember him as being forever helpful and co-operative during my time there. He loved to laugh and his good humour was welcomed and admired by all his Brewery Colleagues. Bart will be missed.

Bart was a wonderful human being and a truly loving Uncle to me and my two brothers. I last saw him at Uncle Patrick’s funeral and he always brought a lovely smile to my face and touched my heart. Bart always kept in touch with me and would ring me in England from Dublin. I will miss him terribly;I never met anyone who demonstrated so much enthusiasm and that rare quality of non judgement and love..a wonderful man has gone and the world has lost such a sublime soul. I went to light a candle and being unable to attend the funeral I wish his family lots of love XXX!

Bart was a bright light in a sometimes dark world, His turn of phrase, wise and articulate poised insights on matters of life and spirituality always gave me hope, meaning and some food for thought whenever I listened to him talk. He was the lamp on the table offering light to others, lighting the way. My condolences to his wife, children and grandchildren.

When my young son grows up and we are passing through Sutton, I will tell him about the legend that was Bart. Each time you met him he was welcoming, smiling upon recognition and always had a calming presence. He helped many. A humble man. No finer.
