Condolences to Beatrice's family and loved ones. She accomplished so much and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
I first met Beatrice in Pre-med RCSI in 1987. She was always there to guide and give advice. A great lady who saw the library move from the corner in the main building to the fabulous library in Mercer. I always enjoyed chatting to her. May she rest in peace.
It was my pleasure to have met Beatrice many times as a medical student at RCSI and Beaumont Hospital. She was a kind knowledgeable and helpful person and a part of the education of many RCSI alumni. May she rest in peace.
Sincere sympathies to Madeleine and the extended family on the sad passing of Beatrice. She was a friend of the Ellis family in Donnybrook for many years and will be greatly missed by me, and by my sisters Mary and Margaret. We always appreciated her books on Donnybrook and the occasions on which she would give us a preview of Donnybrook people and places. Her enthusiasm for her subject was infectious.
Beatrice was also a professional colleague of mine and a fellow former President of the Library Association of Ireland. (LAI) We shared many professional interests. I will miss her and know that she will be sadly missed by all her knew her. May she rest in peace. So sorry to hear the sad news of Beatrice's passing. She was a major figure in the library world, a trailblazer and source of inspiration. Beatrice was very generous with her expertise and she was always encouraging to people making their way in academic libraries, myself included. Sincere condolences to her family on their major loss and may Beatrice rest in peace.
My condolence to Madeleine and to Beatrice’s extended family. My friendship with Beatrice in Elm Park GC blossomed due to our mutual interest in history. She encouraged me to publish my own family history when it would not otherwise have dawned on me to do so. What I miss most is the random call asking “would you fancy a bowl of soup” in Elm Park or for “a gin & tonic” in her back garden. Beatrice introduced me to the Daniel O’Connell Summer School when she asked me to accompany her as a speaker there in 2023. Shared holidays and trips to Kerry are now but good memories. May she rest in peace.
Sincere sympathy to Madeline Richard and family

My deepest condolences to Madeleine and family. Beatrice and I go back a long way, to the early seventies when she worked in UCD. We were sisters in arms in medical librarianship. I have fond memories of holidays spent together and the shared interests that brought us joy. Beatrice was great at keeping in touch even though I was living in the UK. I will miss her enthusiasm and zest for life. May she rest in peace.

She was President of the Library Association of Ireland, the Irish stalwart of the European Association of Healthcare Libraries, Deputy Librarian of UCC, and the RCSI's first professional Librarian. She was a leader in the library community over many years, pushing out the role of professional women on many fronts.

Deepest sympathy to Madeleine and all the extended family at this sad time. Beatrice was a lovely lady who leaves behind a great legacy. May she now have the peace she deserves.
My condolences to Beatrice's family. On my first day at work in UCC Library, Beatrice was my guide on a grand tour of the far-flung reaches of the Library system as it then was in 1976. Thereafter she was a valued colleague and ally. Never content with the status quo and always seeking the next challenge, Beatrice left Cork to embark on her distinguished career at the RCSI. Even in retirement she always had some fresh project on the go, her energy and enthusiasm an example for us all.
In remembrance of a life lived to the full.

Beatrice is a deep loss to all who knew her. We hugely admired the energy and focus which she brought to creating the Mercer Library at RCSI. After she retired this continued in so many ways such as her wonderful books on the history of Donnybrook. Beatrice was also an immensely kind and thoughtful lady. May she rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear of Beatrice's passing. She was tireless in her commitment to the Elm Park Bridge Club and singlehandedly set up a thriving program of lessons for new members. She was a keen and prolific local historian, with a capacity to ferret out interesting details which she used to enliven her many talks on the subject of the residents of the "Grand Canal to the Dodder". I will miss her.

Sincerest condolences to Beatrice's family, friends and former colleagues. As Librarian in RCSI she was extremely encouraging to me when I was a trainee-librarian there in 1996-97. Beatrice fostered a genuinely kind, professional and encouraging workplace environment, where everyone was supported to pursue a professional career in its fullest sense, and everyone was respected and listened to. She was also a fascinating woman, who had many interests and stories to tell. Beatrice was the embodiment of the universal adage "never stop learning" and she inspired so many. RIP Beatrice.
Sincere sympathy to all Beatrice’s family at this sad time. Always very supportive and engaging when I was a young library student and was so encouraging always. May she RIP

Beatrice was a trailblazer for Irish medical librarians and was a champion of the profession long past her retirement. She was a natural leader with great intellect and, at the same time, a great mentor to many young professionals.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Beatrice Doran. I didn’t know her personally but in 2004 she gave a guest lecture for my class in the Masters in Library and Information Science in UCD. Listening to her I was inspired to pursue a career in health science librarianship and so the trajectory of my career changed from that moment. I am sure Beatrice inspired many others and is a credit to the library profession in Ireland. May she rest in peace.
I was very sorry to hear of Beatrice's passing. My condolences to her family. While I was a student at UCC, she was the ever knowledgeable and helpful librarian. In later life, I got to know her again when we both moved to Dublin and of course, at the annual Daniel O'Connell Summer School at which she was a constant attendee (and occasional lecturer). She was always great company and I was pleased and privileged to have her as a friend. may she Rest in Peace.
Lovely person. She used to call in to us regularly in UCD Library, Blackrock. RIP Beatrice.
Madeline and family sincere sympathy to you and your family on the passing of your sister Beatrice. I knew her all my schooldays and since. I admired her and may she now RIP
I am very saddened to hear this news. I met Beatrice first in the very early stages of my career (indeed she interviewed me more than once), and was part of several committees and working groups with her, as part of the Library Association of Ireland. She was formidably capable, intelligent and rigorous in her work, a great person to learn from as someone new to the profession. I subsequently met her regularly when she was completing her doctorate in 2011 and researching in the Michael Smurfit School of Business Library where I worked then. She was full of zest, vigour and enthusiasm and her PhD research and writing seemed to come easily to her. Beatrice has served the library profession in Ireland so well, and will be held in high esteem. My sympathies to her family and friends on their loss. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.
My sincere condolence Beatrice's family. I have happy memories of our time in UCD together.
Sincere sympathy to Beatrice's family on her passing
