To the McCauley family, I was incredibly shocked and saddened to hear of Ben’s passing. While I had not seen him for quite a while he was always a lovely guy, in good form, smiling and I always enjoyed his company. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time. Ben , what a legend you were . I will never forget going to France in 4th year when we packed off to ecole for 12 weeks and had the time of our lives in Angers. You brought the craic and the fun to us all and brightened our lives . Sincere condolences to the McCauley clan

With a heavy heart, I write these words about my dear friend Ben.
My deepest condolences to his Mum Rita; Jacques; Kathleen; sisters, brothers, extended family; and his many friends.

Ben was a gentle and noble man in every sense; open, friendly, and full of fun; his quick wit, generous warmth, and natural charm were unmatched. He loved his family deeply and was immensely proud of them all, especially his beloved son Jacques. Our friendship began in 2008, and from then on we could always keep pace with each other’s banter, there was never a dull moment.

I feel truly privileged to have remained friends and confidants, especially over the past three years. Ben was always there as a sounding board and offered wonderful parenting advice whenever it was needed. He was generous with his time and energy. He had a gift for saying exactly the right thing to keep people going, always positive and quick to find the silver lining in any situation. He was a deep thinker who encouraged others to keep perspective and look toward the brighter side of life.

The world is a quieter, dimmer place for his passing, while heaven shines all the brighter for his presence.

I just wanted to pass on my sincere condolences to Ben's Son and Family. Ben was a friendly and gentle guy with a big wide grin. We got on well from the very first day we met on a train to L$G in Lausanne in 2013. He was so proud to come from the big family and he talked so lovingly about his Son, His Mum and his siblings. I will miss him.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Ben’s passing. I worked with Ben for ten years, and he was a thoughtful and intelligent young man with a warm, welcoming smile. Long after I left the company, he was always a pleasure to meet when we crossed paths socially in Dalkey on a Saturday morning. I will remember him with great fondness. His intelligence, forward thinking and sharp mind stood him out from the crowd and he was always 10 steps ahead of everyone in conversations always thinking of the next thing and looking for the next opportunity.

Outside of work Ben was a pleasure to be with and I still have wonderful memories and the scars to prove it from a couple of our adventures.
