Benny was one of the unique ambassadors in Terenure College RFC. As well as being a truly unique orator, with a superb sense of timing with his astute one-liners, he was also a very considerate host to the many guests he welcomed to the Club across more than three decades.

Losing Benny and his good friend, Bosco Morrissey, in less that a year greatly lessens the friendly faces who used welcome strangers and friends to Terenure.

Go well my friend. We miss you already

Sandra , a sad day . We were lucky to have known you both and I know him over seventy years and fortunate to have spent holidays with you both together over the years going back to the first one in Guia Portugal in 1980 , Florida and recently Italy. Doc and I played Rugby with Benny,Marty, Kevin and Terry.

Benny was the ultimate gentleman, he always looked so dapper and had the most fantastic sense of humour. You only have to read all the beautiful messages to see how special he was and how much he meant to everyone who knew him.

He was a wonderful friend to my Dad, Michael, over the years and they never lost touch. We even got them together a few years ago and had a lovely afternoon where they reminisced while looking through the Terenure College yearbooks from their schooldays.

It has been our privilege to have known you and called your our friend Benny.
