Years later our paths crossed again when we were both on the staff of Scoil Mhuire. Fond memories of our years there . Still cannot believe she has passed away . Bernie was a popular member of the UCG Athletic Club in the late 1960s. Many of us members from that era came together for a reunion in 2023 and while she didn’t make it, Bernie was remembered and fondly spoken about at that event. None of us will have been surprised to read the many glowing tributes to her here. I wish to pass on sincere commiserations to her family and to all those in her wider circle of friends, who miss her.

As a friend of Bernie's sister, Mary - my memories of meeting Bernie over the years are of a friendly, warm and kind lady who was lovely company and who always took an interest in others. The countless stories of how good she was to so many people throughout her life, both in a professional and personal capacity, say it all. I am deeply shocked and saddened at Bernie's untimely passing and my thoughts and prayers are with PJ and the family, the Moran family, extended families and many, many friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sí. Rest in Peace Bernie.
