Our sincere condolances to Bernie's children, Niall, Emma and Jonathan, her sisters Mary and Terri, her grandchildren and wider family circle and friends. We both have lovely memories of Bernie, when we used to hillwalk over the Cooleys, Mournes and enjoyed a few weekend trips away with Pat K's Hillwalking Group. Bernie embodied Maya Angelou's observation “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” And Bernie made you feel special. She had a lovely warm personality; always in good humour, saw the bright side of life, was an entertaining conversationalist, just one of the loveliest people I have had the pleasure to know. May she rest in peace now, together with the lovely Pat Duggan whom we also had the pleasure of meeting on a few occassions.
