Karl Burns for the beautiful celebration of Bernie's life and the Holy Mass. Thanks to Carmel Costello for the beautiful singing and fitting choice of music and hymns. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude and appreciation. Mam you are loved and deeply missed and we will carry you in our hearts always, rest in peace.

(Part 1) We, the family of Bernie, would like to convey our sincere gratitude to all those who expressed their sympathies to us on the sad loss of a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbour. A heartfelt thank you to our relatives, neighbours and friends who brought food and refreshments in abundance to our home and who helped during the wake and funeral. To all those who attended the house, removal, funeral, those who travelled long distances, sent cards, messages of condolence and offered us assistance and comforting words in any way, we thank you so much for your kindness. Bernie received such a beautiful welcome and goodbye from her wonderful neighbours, relatives and friends who gave a candlelight Guard of Honour on her final journey home to Pine Grove. Your kindness and thoughtfulness are greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. We would like to thank Dr Joan Kearney and the team at Pine Grove Medical Centre, Mulrooney's Pharmacy, and all the staff, doctors and nurses who cared for Bernie with special thanks to the Galway Hospice for their care and compassion. To Marie and Aidan at Collevy's Funeral Directors we can't thank you enough for your guidance and assistance throughout and thanks to Gerry Hughes also. Thanks to the gravediggers who prepared Bernie's final resting place with such great care and attention and to the Franciscan Brothers and the Agricultural College for hosting the removal.

Andy and family,
I’m very sorry to hear about your loss. Although I never had a chance to meet your mother, it’s clear from the condolences others have shared that she was an amazing person and deeply loved. I hope you can find some comfort knowing how much she meant to so many people. RIP Bernie Gavin.
