With deepest sympathy to you all on the loss of your treasured Bernadette.May Bernadettes gentle soul rest in peace.May you all find peace and comfort at this sad time.Bernadette was a dear school pal of mine,pleasant and good humoured.She was a lovely singer .Both of us were given the priviledge of singing a duet in the primary school concert when in 6th class!The song was "Thank you mam says Dan"We were not dressed up as old style characters till the night of the concert!Bernadette played the role of Dan and wore her fathers hat and attire.I wore my grandmothers clothes,,When the curtain opened on stage and we saw each other dressed so comically we got a few fits of laughter and were unable to sing!Finally we sang like larks to the delight of Sr Philomena and the audience,,and got a great round of applause.Bernadette and myself and our parents had many a laugh recalling that night.! I have told the story to my many pupils, as I pass on the song to them ,and the memories of my lovely jolly musical friend Bernadette..Codladh sámh Bernadette.
