So very sorry to hear about Bernadette's passing. I had the pleasure of getting to know her whilst working as a journalist in the Drogheda Independent many years ago. We'd be in contact about the activities of EMARA and I was always struck by her drive, determination, and sense of fun She was just a genuine warm person who did so much for her community and especially for those in the later stages of their lives through the wonderful active retirement association. I always enjoyed any conversations/encounters we had. Unfortunately I can't pay my respects in person but I will remember her in my prayers, and with much fondness. Heartfelt sympathy to all of Bernadette's loved ones. May she rest in peace.

Fond memories of Bernadette. As a teacher in the local school I approached her with an idea to combine activities with children and the retirement group. She was immediately on board and came up with the lovely slogan” older and younger hearts beating together “. One of the very special days in my career when age fell away and both enjoyed tai chi, bowls and even some Irish dancing. A wonderful lady.
