Sincere sympathy to the Devanny family on the death of Tess. We knew her well when she took care of Fr. Walsh in Corofin. Tess was a gentle and generous lady. I often drove Fr. Walsh's car mostly to matches in his later years. They often called to our house. We called to her in her house in Ruan where she loved to entertain. May she Rest in Peace.

It is with great sadness today that news has reached parishioners in Ruan & Dysart of the passing of Tess Devanny, RIP. Tess came to live in our parish as personal assistant to Fr. John Moroney when he was appointed Parish Priest in 1970. She possessed a lovely, warm personality and had a welcoming smile and was most helpful to all visitors to "St. Tola's View", which was located in the centre of the parish, half way between Dysart and Ruan. Tess cared for Fr. Moroney who was in poor health for many years, until his death in 1984. She was a kind and tolerant lady and very much appreciated by all parishioners for her dedication to Fr. Moroney.

Sympathy to her sister, brother and extended family. May she reap the rewards of her wonderfully charitable Christian life. Rest in God's peace Tess.
