To Paula and all the family, I am so very sorry to hear that your poor Mam is no longer with us. She was such a wonderful next door neighbour and met us with such friendship and warmth when we first arrived to North Strand. She was the heart and soul of the street. I can still see her polishing her brass door knobs, she put the rest of us to shame. She always had time for a chat and in later years when I came back to visit my sisters with my kids, she would bring us in and fill their pockets with Kit Kats. Her kindness will not be forgotten and the street will not be the same without her. Rest in Peace Mrs. Whelan.
