Barney had worked in The Irish Times for over 50 Years and was also manager of the Irish Times Credit Union as well as office manager he will be remembered by many retired staff
Saddened to hear of Barney's passing. He made me very welcome when I joined the Irish Times in 1986. Favourite memory was playing golf for the Credit Union Cup in Clontarf with himself, Brian Murphy and the late Brian Kavanagh when they discovered after 14 holes that he had his hearing aids on silent. A lovely man... Rest peacefully Barney.
