Bernard (Ben) Harding

I met Ben about 10 years ago. I remember him as a young man of wit and intelligence with great love of and compassion for animals. I looked forward to chats with him about his menagerie.

My uncle was a Big part off my life he was a Horse man and never Failed to put a smile on my face I loved going up to the horses and looking on Done deal for a horse for me he always said if we win the lottery we would buy a white Arabian ❤️he was the best of the bests belly laughs all the time when I was wi him he new every person tha walked past he told me I was not like the others and I was a good kid he said to my ma all the time where did u get him From you will be missed terribly from your side man Olly

Our hearts are exceptionally heavy at this time with the passing of Bernard. My uncle Bernard was someone who cherished the simple joys in life. Laughter was a huge part of my uncle, he always loved to have a joke about and torment family and friends with slagging matches on a daily basis.

He also had an incredible passion for the companionship of dogs and horses. He raised and cared for so many different breeds of dogs and horses throughout his life and he was extremely passionate for the care of animals that we always said he should have become a vet.

My uncle was the biggest Man United fan and the passion he had for supporting Manchester United was unmatched. There was not a game he would miss, he was always cheering them on and talking about football from his favourite spot on the couch.

Bernard was also exceptionally knowledgeable in the topic of World War history & cowboy western programmes and would stay up until 4am in the morning to watch them on the TV.

Bernard loved a great cuppa. He always had a cup of tea in his hand and the minute the kettle had boiled he was boiling it again while drinking the one in his hand to make another one.

Bernard had so many varying interests and hobbies throughout his life.
His love for these things surely reflected his vibrant spirit for life. May the memories of his laughter and the moments shared with him bring all his family and friends perpetual comfort.
