So sorry to hear the sad news of Bernie’s passing. I knew him from Athlone in the dim and distant past. A gentleman and a great footballer! Deepest sympathy to his sons, daughters and to his brother Frank.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Bernie to his eternal reward and now extend our deepest sympathy to Brian, Niall, Louise and extended family members. I have known Bernie since my early working days in Roscrea and always found him to be a great people's person, he loved to talk to his customers and always had a smile. He was a founder member of Roscrea Tidy Towns committee, and always helped out when needed. He had a great interest in progress in the town, the annual tidy towns results, and continued to maintain the Birr road for years while his health allowed him. He was also an active member of Roscrea Chamber of Commerce and Roscrea Traders so when people like Bernie leave the stage of life they leave a great vacuum in the community. We will always remember Bernie for the many good deeds he did for so many and smile for the sunshine and memories he brought to all our lives. May he now rest in God's eternal care.
