I have known Bernard through his younger brother since 1971. Bernard was always kind and welcoming when I called around at odd hours. He had a great sense of humour and could both give out and take a ribbing without any bad feelings. I missed his presence when he left for Ireland and I will miss him even more, knowing that there will be no more such occasions. When Jackie and I heard that Bernard had left us we were devastated and shed many tears. There is now a big hole in our world which can never be filled. I know this is also true for Bernie, Trish, Chris and other family members and friends who were lucky enough to know him. Bernard was and always will be my best friend, we shared great times and laughter together. If you ever spent time with Bernard you would part company with a smile on your face and I loved him with all my heart. In addition to being a great entertainer Bernard could also listen and when I needed guidance he would put me on the right track. My consolation is that I was blessed to know Bernard and Jackie and I will recall happy memories of Bernard that will always bring a smile to our faces. Thank you Bernard and Rest In Peace our dear friend.
