Bernie and Achill Boothman were two magical hurlers who almost pulled off a win against Tipp in the 1961 All Ireland. Great memories for hurling fans of that era. May they both rest in peace.

That's my experience of Bernard from when I worked as a fitter at the match factory at Hammond Lane. He had a great sense of fun and humour.
