Deepest condolences on your loss to Bernard’s family
He was a true gentleman and friend, with a huge heart and an assortment of stories the would make anyone smile. During the barren years of Dublin’s many “nearly” games and defeats, a couple of hours post-game in his company and we were smiling winners again.
As he often said, Who are the people? We are the people, the chosen few, the boys in boys.
Rest easy my friend and thanks for the friendship & company.

I just heard the sad news of Bernard's passing. He was a wonderful work colleague and always enjoyed life to the full. On returning from Italia 90 straight from the plane to work he announced "Im a Roman Ruin". My deepest sympathy to all his family - may he rest in peace.
Deepest condolences to the Brady family for your loss — Bernard was a great friend and filled any gathering with his humour, knowledge (of music, among many subjects) and cheer. And sport: he was kicking a football with me in New Jersey as recently as 6th April. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a Anam.
So sorry to hear of Bernard's passing. He was a lovely man and neighbour and he will be sadly missed.
Bernard. I only met you earlier this year in that hotel in Gorey where we shared a pint and solved the world's problems between us. We seemed to become friends instantly. Since then I enjoyed our sadly very few times together. Sleep well my friend and thanks for the walking stick you lent to me. If the family don't mind I will keep it in memory of you
Fond memories growing up,

Sincere condolences on Bernard's passing. He was a much loved cousin of my Mam's, Josie Barnes and was always funny, generous and kind to us as kids. My earliest memory of Bernard is him teaching me to fry sausages in Tyrconnell Park, when I was about seven or eight. Slán Abhaile Bernard and may you rest in peace.

Thinking of you all today. Such fond memories of Bernard and what a great story teller. May he Rest In Peace x
My thoughts are with Miriam, Sharon and their families, at this very sad time.
Bernard was my children's favourite "uncle" when they were little.
He was a decades long true and loyal friend. So admired for his strength of character, the dignified manner in which he handled his deteriorating health, quick witted humour - a man of integrity who in his own words "had a good run" - so sadly missed.
Slan leat Bernard.

I knew Bernard through the Jazz Fraternity, and had many an enjoyable night in his company. I had found it difficult to reach him in the last few years but his great friend Dave ORourke kept me up to speed and when Bernard visited Dave this year, I spoke on WhatsApp with him
May he rest in peace, and, as he often said, Up the Dubs!
