Sincere condolences to the Carolan family on the passing of gentleman Bernard. Back in the 1960’s and seventies our family had a huge connection with the Carolan’s by virtue of the great friendship of our two mothers through their work in St Michael’s House. Great people. Good memories.

Deepest sympathy to Greta, Bernard, Neil, Sinead and Martin on their very great loss. Bernard was such a lovely man - I have very fond memories of his and Margaret's annual visit to Moydow to visit our Mam, Greta's first cousin. As a teenager in rural Longford in the 1980s, visits from relations of your parents weren't always welcomed, but that was certainly not the case with Bernard and Greta. We loved to see them, hearing Bernard's soft north Dublin accent and his laid back, laconic style. He was just so lovely. Those visits brought joy, laughter, and a real sense of connection to our wider family. He had a gentle presence and a wonderful way of making people feel at ease — qualities that left a lasting impression on all of us. I am so sorry that I cannot be in Dublin to pass on my condolences in person. Kindest regards, Louise
