I knew of his involvement in the community from the discussions that took place at the plant in the evenings. May he rest in peace.

I am truly saddened to hear of the death of Bernard, a stalwart presence in the life of Killybegs over many years. May he rest in Eternal Peace and I extend my heartfelt condolences to Bernard's wife and family and to his brothers and sisters. Your loss is immense and your grief is beyond measure. I have such fond memories of the Conaghan family arriving to live in the Holly Bush. I was a young girl at that time and Bernard appeared to be the essence of sophistication and glamour. He always had a car and provided transport on many different occasions and with an assortment of passengers! Suffice to say, it was before seat belts and child car seats became mandatory. On the weekly Sunday Mass run, punctuality wasn't always a priority for Bernard much to the annoyance of some of his more pious passengers. Memories, precious memories.... I always enjoyed meeting Bernard over the years and reminiscing about those times when life was simpler. Rest in Peace dear Bernard. You will be sorely missed.
