Dear Grace,
I am so sorry to hear of Bennys passing. He was always a joy to be around. I remember when I was very young, we all spent Thanksgiving together at my mom’s apartment in New York. I took a plate of food much bigger than I could eat, and was going to throw most of it out. Benny told me that I shouldn’t be wasteful since there was many people all over the world that were hungry and would love to have meal like this. Till this day I think of Benny whenever there is food on my plate and how I should take a second to appreciate it.

May he rest in peace, and may your family find comfort knowing what a positive impact he made on the life of those around him.

I couldn't believe it when I heard the sad news, having been fortunate enough to listen in on the two occasions you were on Liveline. I was truly blown away by the amazingly long, lovely life you and Benny shared and the articulate way you expressed yourself on the day of his passing. The epitome of courage and composure. I'm originally from Co Down and pass through Castlewellan en route to my birthplace, usually cursing about the traffic through the town. Not any more! Next time I'll remember Benny and say a prayer.
