My thoughts are with you Susan, Nichola, Julie and Rachel, on the loss of the lovely Bernard. Always such a nice neighbour, and good fun. We had a great chat in the garden at Mam and Dad's birthday and he was extremely kind when I was ill myself a short time later.

I had the pleasure of playing with Ben for Synge Street PPU Gaelic football club in the mid/late 1960's, and I always regarded him as a loyal and dedicated player who made the younger members especially welcome when promoted to the senior team. We met occasionally since then at golf outings, and it was a pleasure to be in his company. May Ben Rest in Peace.

So sorry to hear of Ben's passing. While we were both members in Beech PK & met there a few times, my abiding memory was playing football with Ben & SSPP..I will always remember one day playing a Senior league game in Croke PK as a curtain raiser to an inter county match
We were playing towards HILL 16 & Ben was playing lefthalf back with his usual gusto when we won a line ball about 50yds out. Ben decided he would take it & immediately planted the ball between the posts !!!! One of the finest lineballs ever taken in Croke Park. !!
