A man that will be sorely missed

Either in the front bar giving us young lads grief over our tee shots or in the latter years in the porch with his crew complimenting us on our swings, Bernie was a great man & and an understated credit to our club.

He will forever be a stalwart in what it is to be a member of The Island GC & in my opinion an Honorary Member.

He was a true legend of The Island GC who represented the club with honour and distinction. His contribution to the club's achievements at Provincial and National level will never be forgotten. He was an exceptional player who once held the course record. May his memory be a blessing.

So sorry to hear of Bernie's passing. He was indeed a great character and golfer. I will always remember my dad MJ Morris saying to me, c'mon get your golf shoes, we are going up to St Annes Gc to see Bernie win another St Annes Scratch Cup. He didn't fail. RIP Bernie
